One
of the most famous regions of the Chianti Classico area is Radda in Chianti.
Here you will find the Poggerino Estate, family owned generation in generation that origin
in a fine noble Florentine family, the Ginori. When you visit
Florence, you will notice that one of the important streets, Via dei Ginori, are named after
this family. The
estate was vast in the sixties, but most of the grounds were sold,
and only the most fertile kept for the descendants, Piero and Benedetta
Lanza, the young siblings that now manage the family estate.
Benedetta is occupied by public relations and Piero looks after the lands,
the vines, and the cellar. Piero is dedicated to every phase of the
production of the wines, working at least 12 hours a day to make sure that the production
is one of best of the area. He knows that wine is made on the field and not
simply
in the cellar, so he spends most of his time the fields.

Piero Lanza is proud
of the earth, which is perfect for a the drainage that the vines need. Benedetta and Piero love the lands where they born, and adore the vines. They
are currently planting new vineyards substituting old ones, thus reducing the
productive vineyards to nine acres instead of twelve.
The quality
of the wines is
consistent and the prices are fair. Vinalità can offer Poggerino only in limited
zones in Europe. Please enquire about availability.
