(Alessandro and wife, Rita)
Alessandro is the proud producer of a series of Montecucco
wines. He is deeply dedicated to every process of winemaking and is slowly
increasing the production. He is always on the run between the fields and the
cellar, where he dedicates himself to the actual winemaking, or to show a
curious visitor around, patiently explaining every aspect of his wine. When "Alfeno
Rosso igt" with the year 2003 (from mid-April) becomes a DOC, the choice of DOC's are good enough for any
palate and any pocket. We were amazed by the difference of the wines, all
consequently ranging from good to excellent, and with each their personality.

The Italian magazine "Cucina & Vini" wrote
about a blind-tasting of 90 wines in anteprima (2002's - taken
directly from the barriques) from the coastal provinces of Tuscany. Licurgo
2002 were amongst the best of the province of Grosseto.
