It’s not easy to distinguish one wine from another in Italy, not even if you choose to follow the docg’s or doc’s. One wine can be totally different from the other, as for instance an igt can be called a Super Tuscan and can be a lot more expensive than a docg. One is better off knowing what producer makes what wine, even though it would require an impossible amount of memory

Well, Corzano & Paterno is a quality wine house. The wines produced, a white igt, a chianti docg, a chianti riserva docg, and a so-called supertuscan igt, are all of an extraordinary high level.

Maybe this is the unique factor that brought success. After years of sticking to the idea of making quality wine, the recognition came knocking on the door with numerous reviews and prizes by the best wine guides in Italy.

And why shouldn’t a Chianti made outside the classico area be just as good or even better?

In Italy it’s better to go by producer than by denominations that cannot control whether a wine is made with love or not!
